Cavan Autism Parents Support

About us

Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG is the first of it’s kind in Cavan, which has been solely set up to support the parents, carers and children/young adults with autism in county Cavan and surrounding areas. It is organised and run by parents, carers and young volunteer workers.

We currently have 71 families & 82 children/young adults on our books.

CAPS is the brainchild of Bernie Nelson who’s son is autistic. CAPS have conducted numerous fundraisers over the past number of years.

All our work is done on a fundraising basis with no government funding, so this means that it is not always possible to cater for everyone’s individuals needs. We certainly would not be able to provide any of this without our ongoing support we get from our fundraising events throughout the year and our volunteers.

C.A.P.S not only provide events for children/young adults with autism but also for their parents and siblings.
